Every year, groups of handicapped artists and sportsmen who come from different organization in China will come to the Unites States for a performance tour. These are big events for both Chinese Art organization and the US Art Organization. The performance tours usually are completed in a very successful way with much support by China and the United States governments. In connection to this big event, the Chinese president points out that one-tenth of the world's population are handicapped, but they deserve their dignity, rights and value as human beings. They have the aspiration and capabilities to participate in social life, and are the creators of material and spiritual wealth of mankind as well. From their performances, those handicapped artists and sportsmen inspire many people in the world.

The handicapped artistic creations displayed the stalwart will of the Chinese people in their constant struggle, and reflected the staunch perseverance of handicapped people throughout the world in creating their own lives.

In the recent years, the handicapped artists and sportsmen have established a very high reputation in both the Chinese Community and The American Community. They exhibited the Chinese culture through a friendly trip crossing the Pacific Ocean. The performing arts have the power to evoke in each of us a deeper understanding of our lives and of the world around us. They encourage independence, enhance our sense of self-worth, and provide an avenue for all people to learn and develop creative talents and skills. Most importantly, the arts gave us the power to transcend barriers of language, culture, race, and disability, allowing us to understand and appreciate humankind’s diversity as well as the goals and values we share.
